There have been several stories the past few months about schools banning breast cancer bracelets and shirts and here's another incident that happened at a school in Missouri. A boy got stuck in detention for three days for wearing a breast cancer t-shirt that said "Big or small, we save them all" but administrators were not happy about the shirt.

This month as you know is Breast Cancer Awareness month so there are all kinds of events and activities going on in the area. Graff Chevrolet is hosting a fundraiser on Thursday in Davison from 4 to 8pm with proceeds going to the Breast Cancer Awareness for Life organization. Genesee County Cancer Connection Offers Free Breast Cancer Screenings

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and it is important to know that the best chance to beat cancer is to discover it early. "Early detection is the best way to make sure the cancer does not become a fatal cancer," said David Schreiber, community coordinator for the Genesee County Cancer Connection. Free screenings will be offered this month on two different dates and locations.

School Changes Policy On Breast Cancer Bracelets

Last week Rod and I talked about a girl in Maine who was suing her school after being suspended for wearing the popular breast cancer bracelets. The "I Love Boobies" bracelets have been very popular but the district stated they were a distraction so they threatened to suspend students if they were caught wearing them. Now they've changed their mind after the girl went to the ACLU with a lawsuit threat against the school.
