Yesterday’s Election Filled With Surprises And Suspense

After all of the political ads on TV, radio, and even voice mail, the November 2011 election has come and gone.  I was keeping a close eye on the results throughout the evening, and was amazed at how close some of the races were right up until the end.

There were interesting twists and surprises including voter turnout like that of a presidential election, an amazingly close recall vote against Paul Scott, and more bad financial news for Flint just hours before the polls closed.

Voters To Decide Fate Of Paul Scott In Recall Today

Voters go to the polls today to have their voice heard, and today is the day that state Rep. Paul Scott finds out his fate. Scott is facing a recall in a bitter election dispute with Michigan Education Association. There are more than 20 electoral races to be settled today, but the Paul Scott recall is making the most noise.

Mayor Dayne Walling Talks About Occupy Flint Demonstration

Mayor Dayne Walling stopped by the studio this morning for another round of battle of the sexes. Water Rate Increase For Flint Residents

Flint residents aren't happy with the decision to raise water rates after September 16, according to The Flint Journal. Water and sewer rates are expected to see a 35% increase so a bill that's $82.49 a month will jump to $111.36. This will affect city of Flint customers according to the finance director.
