Justin Bieber was joined by guitarist Carlos Santana on ‘Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’ last night (Dec. 31.) The fact that The Biebs was playing with a guitar legend like Santana essentially guaranteed that he wouldn’t be playing any of his teen-friendly hits like ‘Baby’ or ‘Never Say Never’ and that was okay.
Bieber actually whispered words of wisdom and performed the Beatles classic ‘Let it Be.’ It was a terrific choice and the teen idol did a great job with this enduring tune.
A day after Justin Bieber‘s mom Pattie Mallette tweeted that her parents were involved in a car crash in their native Canada, the Ontario police have confirmed today (Dec. 29) that The Biebs’ grandparents are doing just fine after the fact. Whew! That has to be a load off The Biebs’ mind.
Beyonce has unveiled a list of her 10 favorite songs of 2011 on her website. The list gives plenty of love to female singers and hip-hop artists. Though many critics have Beyonce’s ‘Countdown’ on their year-end lists, Bey went the modest route and did not choose any of her own songs.
Forget the fact that he’s the biggest worldwide teen icon ever, Mark Wahlberg said he just had a feeling that 17-year-old Justin Bieber would be the best fit for a role in his upcoming basketball film. Call it instinct.
Did Aussie teenage dream Cody Simpson just grow up before our very eyes? Well, in the space of this three-and-a-half minute video, he sure did. Simpson revamped the Weeknd’s ‘What You Need’ video, turning it into ‘What You Want.’ Simpson remained mostly loyal to the sound and the stylized concept, save for changing a few words in the lyrics. He is saying he “re-imagined” the video/song and we’re fine with either term, since both fit what Simpson has done.
Even though Janet Jackson is inspiring people to be healthier with her NutriSystem campaign, the singer has a lot of animal rights activists shaking their heads in disapproval. The ‘Rhythm Nation’ singer has been named the 2011 ‘Grinch of the Year’ by PETA for choosing to wear animal products such as leather and fur.
The folks over at DoSomething.org have released their annual ‘Celebs Gone Good’ Top 20 list and it’s full of A-listers like Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift and Demi Lovato. Of course Lady Gaga tops the list for the second year in a row, while the Biebs pole vaulted to the No. 2 spot, up from No. 10 in 2010. The top 3 is rounded out by actor George Clooney.
We’ve heard a lot in recent weeks about the records being tied, set, and/or broken by Katy Perry and Rihanna — which has made it easy to forget that Adele‘s ’21′ is still the top-selling album of 2011. Well, here’s an even more impressive reminder of the ‘Rolling in the Deep’ singer’s success: ’21′ not only outpaced sales of all other releases this year, it posted the biggest one-year sales total since 2004.
Justin Bieber filmed his Christmas special for MuchMusic yesterday, Dec. 21, taking the stage in Canada for the taping of ‘Home for the Holidays.’ During the show, the Biebs melted fans’ hearts by bringing his little sister Jazmyn onto the stage for an adorable duet.
