Mayor Dayne Walling Talks About Occupy Flint Demonstration

Mayor Dayne Walling stopped by the studio this morning for another round of battle of the sexes. Before we started, we decided to talk a little business and he mentioned the Occupy Flint demonstration that is supposed to take place tomorrow. 3rd Annual Zombie Walk Saturday In Flint

It is an unsightly spectacle. Zombies walking the streets of downtown Flint. It happens for the third year this Saturday from 1-4pm, in conjunction with World Zombie Day. The walk this year is raising funds for the Michigan School for the deaf. Admission is a $10 donation, but you can pay what you can afford to be a part of the fun!

Free Parking In Flint – For Now

Flint had a plan to have new parking meters up and collecting by the time we hit "Back to the Bricks" week, but the plan is now on hold. The problem? The city's meter ordinance prohibits the Downtown Development Authority from installing them. Originally the Flint DDA had hoped to have about 200 parking meters in place this summer, but the ordinance that allows them to install the meters and collect the money expired before they could be ordered and installed.
