A Tuscola County man has big plans for his huge lottery jackpot. He plans to buy a lot of cake to celebrate his win.

The 44-year-old player will certainly be able to afford his cake and eat it too, recently cashing in for $260,975 with the Michigan Lottery's Big Cash Second Chance Jackpot.

A Second Chance

The player was selected in a random drawing that took place on January 10. Players earn entries into the giveaway by playing the eligible Big Cash Second Chance Jackpot games online.

He tells the Lottery that the timing of the prize was perfect.

“I have been playing the eligible BIG CA$H online games hoping to win the big jackpot,” he said. “When I saw an email from the Lottery notifying me that I had won, a feeling of relief instantly came over me. Winning this prize came at the perfect time!”

Cake and More

The man went on to say that in addition to buying cake to celebrate his win, he has some less decadent ideas in mind.

“I am planning to invest my winnings in real estate, but first, I am going to buy a lot of cake to celebrate my win,” said the player.

How Does the Big Cash Second Chance Jackpot Work?

According to the Michigan Lottery:

Select online instant games include a second chance progressive jackpot drawing. Part of every purchase of the games funds one progressive jackpot prize which is awarded in a second chance drawing each month. Players earn one entry for every $0.50 wagered playing the eligible games. After the entry period has closed, a random drawing takes place with one jackpot winner being selected from all entries for that month.
