OneRepublic follow the light in the video for their new single ‘Feel Again.’ There are lights. Lots and lots and lots of lights. White lights. Yellow lights. Blue lights. Red lights. It’s a simple video, but sometimes it’s the uncomplicated visuals and concepts that speak at the highest volume and say the most important things. This video is one of those cases where simple doesn’t equate to boring or dull.

The clip is comprised mostly of performance footage, while frontman Ryan Tedder, who is perhaps better known for his songwriting efforts for others than for his own band at this point in his career, picks up a light ball and then follows all sorts of artificial brightness throughout the rest of the video, while singing the uber catchy song, which reminds us a bit of Coldplay and Florence + the Machine.

‘Feel Again’ won’t wow you with spectacular graphics but it what it will do is allow you to concentrate on the song, which is slated to appear on the band’s upcoming third studio album. Perhaps that was OneRepublic’s intention by selecting this no frills treatment for the first visual taste of their next record. It was an effective strategy since it reeled us in hook, line and sinker.
