It's a happy ending for a couple of elderly Northern Michigan residents, after police were called to investigate an auto theft at an Alpena car wash.

An elderly woman took her Dodge SUV to the Ripley Car Wash, but when she attempted to claim it the vehicle was gone. That's when police were called.

(Side note, as someone who grew up just outside of Alpena, the protocol here is to wait in the lobby while your vehicle is being cleaned. I spent a lot of time in that lobby when I was a kid, playing with all the add-on merchandise and basically driving the staff nuts.)

Meanwhile, across town at the local Buick/GMC dealer, an elderly man (driving a Dodge SUV) was asking for assistance getting his vehicle's settings back in order. He was not pleased that everything had been changed at the car wash.

You see where this is going, right?

An employee at the Buick/GMC dealership suspected something wasn't right, because the man was asking for help with his Dodge. He drove the gentleman back to the car wash, where the vehicles were exchanged.

Elderly people can be so cute!
