Numerous media outlets, businesses, one Flint school, and a hospital in Michigan's Upper Peninsula have reported receiving a bomb threat via email.

According to WJRT, one Flint school says the email mentioned: "detonating an explosive device." No other details about the contents of the email are currently available.

The email threat was also sent to news media outlets WNDU in South Bend, Indiana, WSAW in Wausau, Wisconsin, WBKO in Bowling Green, Kentucky, KTUU in Anchorage, Alaska and KCRG in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.

The FBI issued the following statement regarding the situation:

"We are aware of the recent bomb threats made in cities around the country, and we remain in touch with our law enforcement partners to provide assistance. As always, we encourage the public to remain vigilant and to promptly report suspicious activities which could represent a threat to public safety.”
