New Version of Flying Car Buzzes New York Auto Show
Terrafugia's Transition flying car makes it's debut at the New York City Auto Show beginning April 6th at the Javits Center. As a kid growing up and watching "The Jetsons," I figured we all would have flying cars by now. The Terrafugia Transition is street legal and recently completed it's first successful test flight. The company says the vehicle-turned-airplane will be available for sale by the year's end. If you're like me and can't help but think that you've already seen a similar vehicle in Flint, keep reading.
An older version of a flying car made an appearance at last summer's Sloan Auto Fair in Flint. While the new version is more sleek and can be parked in a normal sized garage, there are some similarities (like the rear propeller) to the original.
The Terrafugia Transition is priced at $279,000 and the company says they already have orders for 100.
Had I won the Mega Millions jackpot last week, I probably would have splurged on a couple of these. If you happen to have an extra $279K laying about, you can get one. www.terrafugia.com
