General Motors says that pricing for its new sub-compact car, the Chevrolet Sonic, will start at just under $15,000 when it arrives on the dealers lots this fall. Standard equipment on the new vehicle includes 10 airbags, power door locks, remote keyless entry and 15 inch alloy wheels. The Sonic will be built in Orion Township. The UAW  agreed last year to expand use of a second-tier wage in order to lure the production to the plant. This will be the only sub-compact built in the United States. A hatchback version will be priced at $15,395 and the more upscale Sonic LT will start at $15,695.
