Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has been losing ground quickly to rival Rick Santorum in the latest primaries and caucuses. Dog lovers have a bone to pick with Romney over an NPR story about how Romney put his dog in a crate on top of the family vehicle for a 5-hour trip back in 1983.

The incident has led to an anti-Romney blog DogsAgainstRomney.com

President Obama’s campaign director Tweeted the picture above with the caption “how loving owners transport their pets.”

Actually, I think the dog (in the picture) would prefer to walk.
