A proposed ordinance in Bay City could limit residents to just three cats per household. A similar ordinance was approved last year that mandates that only three dogs, six months old and older can live on a piece of property.

The concern is that people who have a bunch of cats let them outdoors and they run around in other people's yards. That was the basis for the ordinance that limits how many dogs Bay City residents can have.

People who have chickens and beekeepers will have to have a permit as well.

A meeting to discuss the new ordinances will take place tonight at 7:30pm at the City Hall in Bay City.
