"It wasn't worth the love of my life -- it's not worth any lives."

Susan Shain, a Bay area native and University of Michigan graduate. She had known her boyfriend Bob Armlin for 12 years; they dated in college and, after taking a break, reconnected and ended up back together.

Bob was killed in a car accident about five months ago.

Nobody was in the car with him at the time, but Susan and his family speculate that he was distracted by her phone. And now, she's sharing the story with the hopes that people will put their phones down when they drive.

It's really sad that it takes something like this for people to put their phones away when they're driving. My heart goes out to her.
