The Michigan State Police will partner with the Drug Enforcement Administration and other local law enforcement agencies for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day to provide a venue for citizens who want to dispose of unwanted and unused prescription drugs. The MSP's 29 posts will take part as drop-off points on October 29th from 10 am to 2 pm.
If you have expired, unused or unwanted prescription drugs you can drop them off for destruction no questions asked and at no cost to you.
More than 7 million Americans currently abuse prescription drugs according to Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's national survey on drug use and health. Each day, approximately 2500 teens use prescription drugs to get high for the first time. Studies show that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends, including the family medicine cabinet. The Genesee County MSP Post is at:
