The woman thanked him by sending him cookies and a cake to the station, too.

Inkster Officer Tony Squirewell came across a woman who was stranded on Michigan Avenue last week. Lakeesha Matthews had a flat tire and was trying to fix it herself when he found her. She was having trouble jacking up her car, so Officer Squirewell blocked off traffic and offered to help.

When he realized that they didn't have the correct tools to get the job done, he called a tow truck - and paid the bill himself.

Lakeesha Matthews was so floored by this random act of kindness that she sent cookies and a cake to the police station.

Good on Officer Squirewell for this selfless act, AND on Lakeesha for returning the favor!
