Michigan Native Makes Big Splash With ‘Fatkini’ Bathing Suits for Plus-Sized Women [VIDEO]

Designer Gabbi Gregg wants to show the world that plus-sized women can look sexy at the beach too, and has introduced a new line of two-piece bathing suits that complement larger women's bodies. Her new suit has been given the online nickname the 'Fatkini'.

Gregg is a fashion blogger in Chicago, and originally from Detroit. Response to the two-piece suit on her blog Gabifresh has been overwhelming.

She told ABC she was looking to design something for larger women that was young and fresh.

"I think a lot of the swimwear on the market right now for plus sizes is just kind of frumpy and matronly and a lot of it is designed to cover us up."

Gregg's designs are sold online by Swimsuits-For-All, but demand has been so great that the retailer is having trouble fulfilling orders.
