A 26-year-old man from Ann Arbor is willing to trade a pair of Kanye West's shoes for a functioning kidney. I learned two things from this story: 1) there are people who call themselves "sneaker heads" and, 2) apparently these shoes sell for more than $1,000 on eBay.

Matt Neal has posted to a public Facebook group that he is willing to trade his Yeezys for a kidney. He suffers from Bergers disease and has been on dialysis for two years. He posted his blood type, hoping that somebody would take his offer.

No word yet on whether or not he's found a matching donor, but here's a surprise: Kanye West and his wife Kim Kardashian want to give him a brand new pair of shoes if he trades his for a kidney.

I didn't know that they were so generous! Actually, I didn't think that either one of them had a beating heart!

Of course, there's a legal SNAFU: you're not allowed to trade merchandise or money for a human organ. However, he's had many people offer up their kidney in exchange for absolutely nothing, so he may be able to skirt that law.

Stories like this restore my faith in humanity, just a little bit.
