Tired of hearing fireworks in the middle of the night around holidays? That could soon change thanks to new legislation signed.

Michigan Lt. Governor Brian Calley signed the legislation on Wednesday that will give municipalities the control of when fireworks can and cannot be used. The use of consumer fireworks could now be prohibited between midnight and 8 a.m. if the local government says so.

Fines for those who don't comply with the new restrictions could be $500.

Will this help?
