Legislation that would raise the speed limit to 75 mph on some highways is headed to the Governor Snyder's Desk.

The state House of Representatives passed a bill yesterday (Tuesday) that would raise the speed limit to 75 mph on 600 miles of interstate in Michigan, and 900 miles of US- or M- highways would get a speed limit increase to 65 mph. The state police have expressed no safety concerns with the proposed increases. The speed limits will only be raised on highways that pass a safety study.
