Michigan Hospice Patient Celebrates 64th Anniversary Date Night

Their date night was helped, in part, by friends and the Sunset Legacy Foundation.

Bernie Doublestein and his wife Mary Ann have been married for almost 64 years. They met as high school sweethearts, and their official anniversary is next Monday, March 18th.

Bernie is on hospice care for breathing problems, so he partnered up with the Sunset Legacy Foundation, Emmanuel Hospice and the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre to date his wife on one last date night.

The foundation helps seniors put together their "silver" bucket lists, and were able to send Bernie and his wife to see Mamma Mia!, with cupcakes and flowers.
