What started as a nice gesture for a friend turned into a mission for her whole class.

5-year-old Sunshine Oelfke lives in Ishpeming, Michigan, in the UP with her grandmother. Recently, she emptied out her piggy bank and stuffed the money into a plastic bag. When her grandmother, Jackie, asked her what she was doing with the money, she told her that it was to buy milk for a classmate whose mom didn't have money to give her.

Jackie met with Sunshine's teacher and found out that about half of the kids in the class can't afford milk daily. So, she posted a plea on social media.

They started a GoFundMe to buy the entire class milk. While Jackie expected to raise around $700, they ended up raising almost $10,000 in 12 days. Obviously, this will cover milk for the entire class for more than just one school year.

For Sunshine to be so selfless at such a young age means that grandma is doing something right. Congratulations, Jackie and Sunshine!
