Michigan Elementary School Teacher Takes ‘Gay’ Out of Christmas Song [VIDEO]

UpNorth.com

An elementary school teacher at Traverse City’s Cherry Knoll Elementary gets a failing grade. Tired of students snickering at the word “gay” in “Deck The Halls,” the teacher changed the lyrics to “don we now our ‘bright’ apparel.”

In the video below, the school’s principal says the teacher should have used the situation to teach that there are two meanings for the word “gay.”

Parents complained, and the song’s lyrics have been changed back.
