It was the 23-year-old officer's first day on the job.

Tyler Schmittou responded to a 911 call around 8 PM on Monday, May 15th - a 62-year-old man was in cardiac arrest. He was actually surprised that he was the first one to get the call.

The dispatcher walked the man on the phone through chest compressions while Tyler and his team made their way to the scene. They used an automatic defibrillator on the man, and were able to save his life. He and his training officer have also made an arrest in just his first few days.

Tyler says it's a "great feeling." And great work, too!
