A Kalamo Township cat has undergone surgery to remove an arrow from its abdomen, and authorities are searching for the people responsible.

The tabby cat was brought to the Capital Area Humane Society yesterday after it was found under a deck along Carlisle Highway, according to authorities. The cat's owner, an elderly woman, cannot afford the veterinary bills, so surgery was funded through donations.

As of this morning, the cat is in stable condition, but veterinarians say that it is "touch and go."

I know that this is neither here nor there, but this is why I'm an indoor cat advocate. Such a sad story, but I honestly don't believe that the cat was hurt intentionally. At least, I hope not.
