After a similar measure failed last year, Michigan lawmakers are once again considering raising the speed limit on some freeways to 80 miles per hour.

Representative Brad Jacobsen tells WJBK that, if passed, the new limit would primarily apply to rural areas.

"Like a section between Flint and Lansing along 69. Areas once you get north of Lansing, Bay City and Saginaw area would seem logical for that."

What do you think? Is raising the speed limit to 80 MPH on some Michigan expressways a good idea?
