Rumors that Meijer will put an end to its double coupon policy have been floating around for quite some time now, but today the retailer confirmed that plan on its Facebook page:

The Michigan-based retailer will no longer double coupons at any of its 200 stores in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, and Kentucky stores, effective August 26th.

Meijer claims that less than 5% of its customers use double coupons, and is shifting resources to the popular mPerks program which will soon include pharmacy purchases.

Meijer opened its 200th location, on Morrish Road in Swartz Creek in May.

How do you feel about this change? Will Meijer's discontinuation of double coupons affect they way you shop?
