Do you remember how many Emergency Financial Managers Flint has had since the first EFM took office in December of 2011? The answer, as of yesterday, is four.

Jerry Ambrose is the latest to take on the task of balancing Flint's checkbook. Former EFM Michael Earley has been reassigned by the state to take over as EFM for the Detroit Public Schools. But the good news is, there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

Earley had planned to return Flint to local control in 90 days at the end of his tenure (each EFM gets 18 months in the position). Ambrose, who has been assisting previous EFMs since it all started in 2011, said that even though his time count would start over at zero plans to continue with Earley's plan and be out in three months.

Flint's current debt is $9 million, down from $19.2 million in 2012.
