Instead of complaining about all of the potholes, let's do something USEFUL, shall we?

The Michigan Department of Transportation is asking us Michiganders to be alert when we're out and about by reporting potholes that need to be repaired.

MDOT Assistant Regional Engineer for Operations Gregg Brunner explained to ABC 12 how potholes actually form:  "Once that water gets down there and temperatures drop below freezing that causes it to expand and pushes the pavement up," Brunner said. "The next day, when that water melts it goes back down and when cars hit that, that's what actually causes the potholes out there."

You can report potholes HERE on their website. There is also a link to report damage to your car.
