McDonald's is exploring changes to its famous Dollar Menu which would include items that cost more than a buck. The hamburger chain is testing a version of its value menu called the 'Dollar Menu & More', which could include items that cost up to $4.99.

If the chain decides to move ahead with the new name, it will phase out its largely unsuccessful 'Extra Value Menu'. Wendy's made a similar move earlier this year, abandoning its popular '99 Cent Menu' in lieu of the newly-named 'Right Price Right Size' menu.

No Michigan cities were chosen as test sites. The new structure has been tested in California, New Mexico, South Carolina, Connecticut, and Tennessee.
