A Massachusetts law professor has created a campus firestorm with an email to colleagues that declares it would be 'shameful' to send care packages to U.S. troops who have gone overseas to kill other human beings. Who is this man? Michael Avery, a professor at Suffolk University Law School. Read more about the firestorm and watch the video after the jump.

The email may have been brief, but with it Suffolk Law Professor Michael Avery seems to have poured salt into the wounds of quite a few Americans, including some students at his own school. In the five-paragraph e-mail to colleagues in response to a school-wide appeal for care packages for deployed soldiers, Avery calls the notion of sending packages 'shameful'.

Avery has declined to comment. The school says no one opinion is representative of the entire community and they respect Avery's freedom of speech. Students and faculty all over campus are talking about the controversial e-mail, but have mixed emotions.

Do you think he crossed the line?
