Sixteen years ago, Don Moir lost the ability to speak because of ALS. Now, Don is able to communicate with his wife through a new program called Not Impossible.

Don, a Canadian farmer, was diagnosed with ALS in 1995. He lost his ability to speak when he was put on a ventilator. He communicated with people via a letter board, using his eyes. His wife heard about a lab called Not Impossible on the radio, and she called for more information.

The founder of the lab, Mick Ebeling, wanted to help. So they developed a computer program that works as a digital version of the letter board. Soon, they hope to develop software that will allow Don to "speak with his own voice," using old film footage.
