Clem Schultz is sharing the video of the tornado that killed his wife, his neighbor and destroyed his home in Illinois in April of 2015.

The 85-year-old man had gone upstairs to retrieve some lanterns for the approaching storm and started to record the tornado on his cell phone. There wasn't enough time for him to get back downstairs, and the tornado destroyed his house.

A neighbor came to his rescue to dig him out of the rubble, but also warned him not to "look down" because his wife had died under the debris below.

His cell phone video survived the storm, and he recently released it to the public and to meteorologists for research purposes. He's hoping that it will help save lives.

Let's reserve our judgment as to why he couldn't get back downstairs, and just extend our sympathy to him for losing his wife and his home. Very brave of him to release this video.
