Macy’s, Sears, Kmart Closing Several Michigan Locations

None of the closings are in Genesee County, but there's still quite a few in our state.

Some of the closings were announced before the holidays. However, Macy's just announced their closings based on less-than-stellar holiday sales.

Kmart will be closing stores in Garden City, Jackson, Adrian, Lansing, Muskegon, Plymouth, Roseville, Waterford, Westland and Acme Township. The Fenton location closed last year.

Sears will be closing their location in Grand Rapids.

Macy's will be closing locations in Lansing, Westland, Harper Woods and Battle Creek. The closings are predicted to affect up to 10,000 employees.

Luckily for us, none of the current closings are in Genesee County. But still, you've gotta wonder if that will come later. Very sad for all the people will be losing their jobs.
