She did not anticipate what she got from her employer for her efforts.

When Karen Sizemore witnessed a young man leaving her Lowe's store with a $600 DeWalt toolkit he hadn't paid for, she took action. The grandmother and 18 year Lowe's veteran gave chase and managed to supply to police the information that got the thief caught.

Lowe's response was quick, and not what you would expect. They fired her.
