The Love Your City blight initiative got underway in Flint over the weekend.Flint Mayor Dayne Walling was helping out according to ABC12 and said the project is more than just picking things up. "Volunteers get a lot of work done but they also build so much strength in the community. To see people of all different ages coming together and working as a team, that's what's going to carry Flint forward."

More of the Love Your City Pick-Up Schedule:

  • Unlimited large items will be picked up May 5th - May 9th
  • Unlimited bundled brush and lawn debris will be picked up May 19th - May 23rd

All items must be placed curbside and bags should weigh under 50 pounds. Bundles must be no longer than four feet long and branches must be less than four inches thick.

There will also be a Graffiti Free Day scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 10th from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. and a Tire Buy Back day scheduled for May 17th from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
