Dave Barber, whose name has long been synonymous with controversial talk radio in Flint, has died.

Barber spent the better part of 30 years hosting radio programs on WFDF, WTAC, and WTRX in Flint. He left Flint in 2006 for Providence, Rhode Island where held a similar position at WPRO for about a year.

His brother, Larry Barber, tells the Providence Journal that Dave passed away shortly before noon on Saturday (7/4). He'd been in a medically induced coma since suffering a stroke and heart attack on June 25th.

Barber was 60 years old. Funeral arrangements will be handled by Sharp Funeral Home.
