Kevin Westley, a Long Island resident/radio host/Irish dance instructor, has purchased all of the St. Paddy's Day shirts from a local Walmart and plans to return them tomorrow.

Westley's grandfather is an Irish immigrant, and was discriminated against when he arrived to America. He frequently saw signs in Boston that said, "No Irish Need Apply." He also had an uncle who died of cirrhosis of the liver, and says that it's "nothing to make fun of."

He tried reaching out to Walmart with not much success, so he went to his local store, purchased as many shirts as he could fit in his trunk, and plans on returning them on the 18th. Here's the full story from IrishCentral.com.

I'm a descendant of Irish immigrants as well, and while I applaud his determination, I don't think it will do much. Alcohol abuse seems to be a problem in a lot of cultures, not just the Irish.
