Local law enforcement has issued a warning that isn't needed for a sane person with an ounce of common sense:  Don't buy or sell bridge cards illegally!

This comes after three people in Flint have been busted for food stamp fraud.

The three were charged with paying cash to food stamp recipients in exchange for use of their bridge cards.  They then used the cards at area stores to buy food for their restaurants and catering businesses.

According to WNEM, the fraud totals tens of thousands of dollars in just seven months.  Charges could also be filed against the 40 people who sold the bridge cards in the first place.

Bridge card fraud has also been a problem in the Grand Rapids area in the past few years.
