A Michigan Girl Scout Council is taking values the Girl Scouts have had for more than 100 years, and taking them up a notch.

The Equality for Girls program is about empowering girls. Jan Baker, the CEO of Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan says "When they arrive at their future job or in the society, there isn't always a level playing field. We decided that we really wanted to do something we wanted to acknowledge it, we want to really have an understanding of what the issues are for girls as they go out into the world." The Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan currently serves 34 counties in Michigan.
