Linnell Jones-McKenney is giving back to the community that made her who she is today.

McKenney attended Flint Northwestern High School, where she was Most Valuable Player, All-Conference, All-City and All-State honors. She went on to play for Ferris State University, Saginaw Valley University and then to Kentucky State University. She competed in the 1980 Olympics and then played for the St. Louis Streaks Women’s Professional Basketball, and even played for a European team and lived in Rome.

Now, she's back in her hometown and ready to give back to the community. She told ABC 12 that "we have to give back to the next generation so that the next generation can be successful."

She's hosting a FREE basketball camp for local athletes. Sign up is tomorrow night at Baker College at 6:30 PM, and all minors must have an adult with them.

Never forget where you're from, right?
