Back in September, a writer named Tara Wood was at the grocery store with her daughter to pick up cupcakes for her birthday, when they had an interaction with an older man who was at the store alone:

After she posted it, somebody messaged her and told her that the man's wife had died back in March, and that he's been living alone and sad since then.

They took him out to lunch, and since then, the pair have talked on the phone and been friends ever since. Talk about fate! The positive power of social media and human interaction. The best part is, this little girl has no idea how happy she's made this man - she's doing it because she wants to.
