Laundry detergent pods are pre-measured and convenient. They also can look like candy, and pose great danger to children.

During a two-year period, 17,000 children were exposed to the pods, which often have brightly-colored packaging that can appeal to kids. Many of the kids swallowed the concentrated detergent, while some suffered eye injuries after squirting themselves in the face.

Experts say the pods -- and all laundry products should be kept out of the reach of children, preferably in a locked cabinet.
