The kids are part of a program called Kids for Cops. Michigander Mandy Caplis and her son travel around the state, bringing this event to police all over. Through their Facebook page, local kids can be part of the event(s).

“Puts them on a one-on-one level with them. Makes them seem more like a dad or brother or uncle, mom or sister, instead of a big scary police officer. A human level, like a friend,” Caplis told WNEM.

They have events coming up in Southgate and St. Clair Shores. We should work on bringing one of these great events to Flint, no?
