Kayla O’Mara Memorial 5k/10k Races Saturday in Goodrich

The 7th annual Kayla O'Mara Memorial 5k/10k races will take place Saturday, August 4th in Goodrich.  There will be some changes with the start/finish and the course due to construction on the Goodrich High School track and football stadium.

The 10k run will begin at 7:30 am with the 5k at 9 am.  The one mile fun run/walk will be at 9:45.  Races will start and finish at the Goodrich Middle School.  Packet pickup and parking will also be at the middle school.

Proceeds from the race fund scholarships to area student athletes in memory of Kayla O'Mara, an outstanding runner who passed away tragically in a car accident in 2006.

Both race courses will follow paved roads, some gravel roads, and include some rolling hills.

Last year, $10,000 in scholarship money was distributed to local athletes to help with college expenses.
