Former ‘American Idol’ judge Kara DioGuardi is opening up about her shocking past in her forthcoming memoir ‘A Helluva High Note.’

In the book, on stands Apr. 26, the singer-songwriter says she was molested when she was 11 years old by a family friend’s teenage son.

“On one particular day, he took me into the back shed of his house and put his hands all over my breasts and vagina,” she writes, via E! Online. “I remember freezing and not knowing what to do.” Read more after the jump.
Later in the book, DioGuardi also claims that she was date-raped by a famous producer. “[W]ithin a few hours, he was on top of me, pumping, sweating, and speaking to me in Spanish, not a word of which I could understand,” she writes of the incident.

DioGuardi, whose new show ‘Platinum Hit’ premieres May 30 on Bravo, naturally saved room to discuss her rocky three-season run on ‘American Idol,’ revealing she had difficulty getting pregnant while working on season 9. She also says that she asked producers to be let out of her contract when she found out that fellow judge Ellen DeGeneres was leaving the show.

“I wanted a child and there was no way I could get pregnant under the stress of eighteen-hour work days and live TV. I had undergone three unsuccessful rounds of IVF during Season 9.”
