As one prisoner put it; "When I do time, my daughter does time." This story left me with mixed emotions, I must say. See what you think.

A prison in Virginia allowed inmates to attend a Father-Daughter dance with their little girls. The inmate's charges varied from drug possession and distribution, to weapons charges, and the sheriff was quick to defend the dance by saying "They can be very good citizens, and the best way to make them a good citizen is to make them good fathers."

I understand the sheriff's point, and I certainly feel for the little girls missing their dads so much, but isn't jail a form of punishment? Should these inmates be allowed some of the same freedoms that we enjoy as law abiding citizens?
