A study from the University of London suggests that you SHOULD argue in front of your children...it helps them develop better coping skills.

It's an actual ARGUMENT in our house...whether or not we should argue in front of our son. He's very aware of when we're arguing; he usually asks us "not to be rude" to each other. I always thought it was bad to argue in front of your kids, but apparently, it's not...within reason.

My parents rarely argued in front of me. Consequently, I'm a doormat. I'm terrible at confrontation. So maybe there's something to this?

Scientists found that people who experienced verbal aggression as children are better able to handle disagreements later in their life. People who reported seeing their parents and/or family members arguing as children had a lower stress response when it comes to conflict. One expert said: 'Conflict experiences can be beneficial, by alleviating tension and avoiding conflict escalation."
