An 11-year-old boy suffered second-degree burns after his iPhone 5C caught on fire in his jeans pocket, sending him to the emergency room. The Houston boy was in class when another student informed him that smoke was coming from his pocket.

A quick online check by Fox 26 indicates that many other individuals have also cited instances of their iPhones exploding or catching on fire.
