As winter finally transitions into spring, and you need some maintenance done on your car, head into this local business which will donate some of the money to area charities.

As a way to give back after more than 30 years in business in Genesee County, Insta-Lube Inc. will donate $1 for each service performed on Tuesdays to a local charity. Customers can pick which charity their money goes to, or select from a list of the company's five favorites: The Salvation Army, Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, American Red Cross, Susan G. Komen or the Old Newsboys of Flint. If customers decide to make a donation on top of that, they will receive free promotional items such as hats, mugs and umbrellas.

The company began the program last October and has donated about $2,500 so far. Charity Day Tuesdays are expected to continue indefinitely at both locations - 3520 S.Saginaw St in Burton and 4011 N.Linden Rd in Flint.
