It all started to happen yesterday morning at around 8:45am.

Our old friend 'Black Ice' began forming on the westbound lanes of the expressway between Dort Highway and I-475. It always seems to start forming just after daylight. It never fails. Add a little sun light and very cold temps and away we go.

Yesterday the black ice caused a garbage truck and about four cars to collide and slide off the road. As a result traffic was backed up for several miles. I-69 finally re-opened around noon.

I guess what I'm saying is be very careful in the morning for black ice it's actually worse on cold sunny mornings this time of year.
